Pool Services in the Fox Valley

Aqua Vida Custom Pools covers 12 pool services across Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, and eleven more Fox Valley towns: openings and closings, weekly care, liner replacement, equipment and heater repair, leak detection, inspections, salt conversions, renovation, and new inground construction. Every job is quoted after the pool is seen, because size, equipment, and site conditions move the number more than the service name does.

Early September

Water left in a line expands when it freezes and splits it. Winterization exists to prevent exactly that, and fall calendars fill fast.

Pool Service FAQs

Answers to the questions Fox Valley pool owners ask us most.

We quote each opening rather than publish a price, because it varies with pool condition, cover type (solid covers take longer than mesh), extras like attached spas, and how much cleaning is needed. Contact us and we will confirm your exact price before the visit.

Our pool opening includes: removing and storing the pool cover, reassembling and reconnecting equipment (pumps, filters, heaters), cleaning and skimming debris, starting and testing equipment, adding chemicals and balancing water, and initial vacuuming.

We recommend scheduling your pool opening in early spring (March-April) before the rush. Booking early ensures you get your preferred date and your pool is ready when warm weather arrives. Spots fill up fast!

A standard pool opening typically takes 1-3 hours depending on pool size, condition, and complexity of the equipment. Pools that need extra cleaning or have attached spas may take longer.

Yes! We serve Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, Wayne, West Chicago, Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett, Aurora, North Aurora, Wheaton, Carol Stream, Streamwood, and surrounding areas in Illinois.

While you can open your pool yourself, hiring a professional ensures proper equipment reconnection, chemical balancing, and early detection of any issues from the winter. Improper opening can lead to equipment damage or unsafe water conditions.

In northern Illinois, close your pool between late September and mid-October. Once water holds below 60°F but before the first hard freeze. Closing too early (water above 65°F) invites algae under the cover; closing too late risks freeze damage to pipes and equipment.

Closing price depends on pool size, cover type, attached spas or water features, and how many lines need winterizing. Call (630) 390-5732 or use our contact form for an exact quote. Closing appointments book up by late September.

Our winterization includes blowing out and plugging all plumbing lines, adding winterizing chemicals, lowering the water level appropriately, draining pumps, filters, and heaters, removing ladders and accessories, and securing the winter cover.

Water left in the lines expands when it freezes and can crack pipes, pump housings, filters, and heater manifolds. Line freezes are the most expensive winter failure we repair. Professional winterization exists to prevent exactly that.

No. Pools are only lowered below the skimmer line, never emptied. A fully drained pool risks liner damage and even structural shifting from groundwater pressure. The water that stays in the pool helps protect it all winter.

Book by early September. Closing crews in the Fox Valley fill their late-September and October calendars fast, and waiting too long can leave you gambling with the first freeze.
